Mental Health Matters

In the midst of uncertainties prevailing all across the globe with pandemic COVID-19, wars, racial discriminations, natural and man-made calamities many of us are falling prey to various mental disorders affecting our physical, mental, emotional and social well being. According to WHO, Health is defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  The physical and social state of health is addressed by most people as these are evident, the issue of mental health remains hidden and unaddressed which in turn leads to various mental illnesses like clinical depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, dementia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, autism, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).  Many of us are able to fight through the difficult times but most of us fall into this abyss.

Mental Health is nothing to be ashamed of, it’s the right time we break the taboo and be vocal about it. It is just like any other physical ailment you suffer from.
